The ban on the use of Russian Internet services by Ukrainians is untimely and should have been adopted three years ago.

Former member of the Venice Commission Marina Stavniychuk stated this on TV channel 112.
According to her, before banning Russian services, the Ukrainian authorities should have offered a high-quality alternative.
“This decision is belated, it should have been in the context of systemic things that are associated with the beginning of a hybrid war, an information war. All these are issues, including business ones - if this has not been done in three years, then it looks to a certain extent in this context. In the end, if citizens were inconvenienced, then a normal Ukrainian alternative should be offered,” Stavniychuk said.
She also said that what is happening is very similar to some kind of business machinations of the President of Ukraine.
