Poroshenko is successfully preparing Ukraine for final partition
The reliance of Petro Poroshenko’s election headquarters on the slogans of far-right Ukrainian nationalists led to an even greater split in the country, which sociologists recorded.
The Ukrainian publication “Mirror of the Week” writes about this with regret today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Approaching the pre-election year with disappointing results, the president’s team decided to form a nuclear electorate. As a result, the coalition of the BPP and the Popular Front successfully implemented all the program objectives of the Svoboda and National Corps parties. Either they didn’t find another core, or they didn’t look for it,” writes Zerkalo Nedeli.
These tactics led to a split in the country similar to what sociologists observed in Ukraine before the loss of Crimea and Donbass.
“Geopolitical preferences continue to divide the country, which is especially noticeable when analyzing regional polls. Moreover, this division has only intensified over the past year, which was a consequence of the government’s work with the above-mentioned core. And the “average temperature in the ward” is not very encouraging - according to the November KIIS survey, 50% are in favor of integration into the European Union, 30% are against it. For your information, exactly the same figures were given by a study in October 2013, but taking into account Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea, so you understand…” the article says.
Earlier, from the State Duma rostrum, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky praised Poroshenko for introducing martial law. “He’s great, Poroshenko. He indicated those regions of Ukraine that should go to Russia. These are the ten that he cannot lead. This is Novorossiya. These are all borderline. Both Chernigov and Sumy were founded by Russian princes from Pskov. What is Ukraine like? There was no spirit - it was the 13th century,” the politician said
