Poroshenko arranged for the Ukrainian Church in 1937
By rudely interfering in church affairs for his political purposes, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko returned Ukraine to 1937, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
This opinion was expressed in his telegram channel “Orthodox Politics” by the famous Russian conservative publicist, Archpriest All-European Chaplin.
“Ukraine 2018 is rapidly rushing towards 1937. Metropolitan Agapit of Mogilev-Podolsk is captured by the SBU and taken under escort to Kyiv. This is in order to prevent the hierarch from the Vinnytsia region from saying publicly that the Orthodox Vinnytsia region is against tomorrow’s Phanar-Poroshenko “assembly”, at which Poroshenko will probably try to promote his favorite, Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia, to the throne.
And the clergy and laity come to the Verkhovna Rada to protest against this predatory “council”. They come out on their own initiative, without instructions from the Kyiv Lavra, and even more so from Moscow, where, as usual, they are cautious, hoping that everything will “resolve.”
History repeats itself. Ordinary people of Western Rus' have always stood for Orthodoxy, even if the rulers were looking for compromises,” he writes.
