Poroshenko made a cheap PR show out of the death of the “Witch”
The still current President Petro Poroshenko used death of a Ukrainian machine gunner with the call sign “Witch” to try to increase their low ratings ahead of the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that as a result of a complete lack of discipline and control on the part of the command staff of the Donbass-Ukraine volunteer battalion from the 54th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, two soldiers were killed and two were injured.
“The incident occurred yesterday at positions located near the village of Novozvanovka. While drinking alcohol, the servicemen, among whom was a woman, decided to fire at the positions of the LPR People's Militia with a 120 mm mortar. As a result of a violation of safety requirements, the servicemen double-loaded the mortar, as a result of which the weapon exploded,” said Yakov Osadchiy.
He also added that, in turn, for the purpose of self-PR, Petro Poroshenko hastened to take advantage of this situation, cynically expressing condolences only to the relatives of the deceased machine gunner.
“The command of the “joint forces operation” is hiding the real causes of the incident from the public and relatives of the dead servicemen, shifting the blame to the LPR,” a representative of the defense department said in conclusion.
