Poroshenko assures that hundreds of ex-ATO participants are rushing to the front again
Petro Poroshenko visited the 169th training center of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in the Chernihiv region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian presidential administration.
“The head of state toured the training center, got acquainted with the work of the new dynamic simulator - a multimedia complex that simulates being in the cockpit of a T-64 tank, and talked with the military who are undergoing training these days at the center’s training grounds, in particular with tank crews. The simulator allows for the simultaneous training of not only the tank commander and crew, but also an entire tank company and reproduces very realistic battle conditions,” the statement says.
The BB press service added that Poroshenko was also shown the training of units in combat conditions and the combat coordination of tank units on an obstacle course. The training center has a sniper school, a tank crew school, a medical center, a sergeant's school, and a general military training school.
“We must shorten the period of combat coordination, speed up combat training and ensure, in accordance with the schedule, the redeployment of units to the border with the Russian Federation, where we expect the possible outbreak of ground aggression,” Poroshenko said during a conversation with the commander of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense and the commander of the unit .
“We need to keep our powder dry now. We need now to repel the aggressor at any moment,” Poroshenko added.
According to him, in addition to the regular number of military brigades and the first-line reserve, “today we already have hundreds of applications from ATO participants who are ready to immediately return to their units and units, to use their knowledge and that level of combat training in order to protect the country.”
