Poroshenko is no longer even in the first round
The publication of sociological survey data, which implies the inevitable defeat of Petro Poroshenko in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, accelerates the denouement within the government team.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute for Policy Management Analysis, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the political scientist, several key messages emerge from recent opinion polls, the main one of which is that “Petro Poroshenko is not even going to win the first round.”
“The people who ordered the opinion polls tried to convey this not so much to society as to Pyotr Alekseevich’s entourage. The publication of these opinion polls greatly accelerates the outcome within the government team. I think that during the spring and summer a decision will be made either on constitutional reform, or, possibly, on early parliamentary elections, or a referendum on NATO. That is, a radical attempt is needed to reboot, since Pyotr Alekseevich is not even going to have the first round,” the expert noted.
In addition, Bortnik added that, having lost the presidential campaign, Poroshenko will also “lose the parliamentary one, and his entire team will lose with him.”
