Poroshenko, in an anti-Russian frenzy, shot himself above the leg
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill on termination of the so-called “Big” Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership with the Russian Federation.
Bill No. 0206 was introduced by the president today and marked as urgent, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have gone through all the necessary procedures and will vote in the hall,” said Vice Speaker Irina Gerashchenko.
The intrigue is that the “Great Treaty” provided for Russia’s recognition of the borders of Ukraine in the version until 2014. Now Moscow can claim that since the document was torn up formally on the initiative of Kyiv, the Ukrainians have no grounds to lay claim to Crimea, the Kerch Strait and other historically Russian territories.
