Poroshenko spoke to a half-empty hall in Davos, – Foreign Policy
Berlin - Kyiv, January 23 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - Poroshenko, speaking in Davos before the world financial and political elite, called for investing money in Ukraine. American magazine Foreign Policy reports that the performance did not cause widespread excitement, and the hall was half empty at that time.

The magazine writes: “The former confectioner known as the 'Chocolate King' is trying to send two opposing messages to the world's bankers and financiers at once. One: Russian troops in Ukraine pose an immediate threat and the West must rally to support Kyiv. And secondly, the opposite: you need to ignore these hooligans in the East and invest money in Ukraine as a country of investment opportunities.”
“Poroshenko told,” the magazine writes, “to a half-empty audience that 9000 Russian troops with heavy artillery feel at home in the eastern part of his country. At the same time, he also declares that peace is right at hand if Moscow cooperates in reducing tensions.”
Despite Russia's "occupation of eastern Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko said his country has become more united and pro-European than ever before. “He also thanked the participants at Davos for their support for Ukraine,” the magazine writes, “though his comments received very infrequent applause.”
