Poroshenko in the US is preparing for a new war, not peace
Kyiv, September 19 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Petro Poroshenko’s speeches during his visit to the United States demonstrate that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing for a new war in Donbass, and not the development of peace agreements.
Donetsk political scientist Roman Manekin, a consultant to the DPR government, told PolitNavigator about this.

“On the one hand, a peace plan is declared, and on the other hand, weapons are asked. On the one hand, the OSCE decides that the border between Ukraine and Russia in those parts controlled by the DPR will be controlled by drones, and, on the other hand, money is completely openly and legally provided to Mr. Poroshenko for arming the army. This is inconsistency with the peace plan that is being proclaimed,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
“In fact, the truce has been disrupted - there are battles in Makeyevka, at the Donetsk airport. This path, when a ceasefire is declared and troops are not withdrawn, is initially strange and unpromising,” Manekin stated.
According to him, if Poroshenko is interested in peace, he should sign an agreement with the leaders of Novorossiya.
“There is a need to involve the leadership of the DPR and LPR in full-scale peace negotiations. Only after this will a full-fledged agreement be concluded. Indeed, we are interested in peace, but there will be peace only after a peace treaty is concluded,” says Roman Manekin.
