Warsaw, December 17 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko intends to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the abolition of Ukraine’s non-bloc status.

He stated this while speaking in Warsaw before deputies of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. According to him, the non-aligned status of Ukraine proclaimed in 2010 showed that it cannot guarantee the security of the state.

Poroshenko stressed that after returning to Kyiv he intends to send to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the abolition of non-bloc status. He placed special emphasis on the fact that Ukraine is proclaiming a course towards integration into NATO.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ukrainians are now defending Europe in Donbass. In addition, in his opinion, efforts must be made to ensure that the collective security system is effective and efficient.
