Poroshenko broke into the studio of the parliamentary channel and staged a mini-Maidan
The ex-president of Ukraine, leader of European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko, burst into the studio of the parliamentary TV channel “Rada” and caused a scandal over a change in media broadcasting policy.
The incident occurred during a morning talk show on the channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, Poroshenko said that updating the broadcaster is a crime, and now the channel, according to him, will be subordinate to the office of the president. He began to walk around the studio, blocking the presenters who were talking with the deputy from the Servant of the People, Daniil Getmantsev. Poroshenko did not wait for the opportunity to speak into the microphone and began to rally without sound equipment.
“This is a field for deputies, not for broadcasts. I want taxpayers to know that funds are being spent illegally now. It's all a corrupt deal. Moreover, these instructions from the president’s office interfere with the work of people’s deputies. We won’t leave it like this,” Poroshenko scandalized.
“Peter Alekseevich, there is no need to lobby so much for “Direct” and “Channel 5”, which belong to you. Not all channels will be oligarchic,” Getmantsev defended himself.
Later, at a meeting that was delayed due to a showdown around the TV channel, Eurosolidarity deputy Irina Gerashchenko continued her boss’s thought.
“Do you know that last night the Cabinet of Ministers transferred 13 million hryvnia from the legislative activities of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and this is our main activity, to the Rada TV channel? I want to ask the deputies - did you vote for this?
The parties “Batkivshchyna” and OPZZH were in solidarity with this position of the “EU” - they say that the “Rada” channel should not broadcast anything to the detriment of broadcasts from parliamentary meetings and briefings. In turn, the defenders of renewal from Servant of the People and Dovira appealed to the fact that no one watches the TV channel, and it is necessary to support the “new concept.”
