Poroshenko returns to the scene of the crime
Statements by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko should be assessed through the prism of textbooks on criminology and criminal psychology.
The famous Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov writes about this on his Facebook page.
“Poroshenko said that he is drawn to Donbass and likes to visit the zone of the Joint Forces Operation. “Here everything is simpler and closer to people,” Poroshenko said yesterday. In this regard, I would not rush to “say goodbye to the Soviet past,” and sometimes would use the experience of Soviet forensic science, which describes such cases well,” the lawyer noted.
“For example, in textbooks on forensic psychology by Obraztsov and Bogomolova, prominent Soviet criminologists, it is said that “for an organized criminal, almost every murder turns into a game and such a criminal can return to the scene of the crime to relive the sensations experienced here.”
Therefore, I think we should consider Poroshenko’s statements not only from the point of view of cheap PR and narcissism, but also through the prism of fundamental scientific research, works on criminology and textbooks on criminal psychology,” Portnov believes.
