Poroshenko met with the “backstabbers”, but did not invite Yanukovych
Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with his predecessors - Leonid Kravchuk (President of Ukraine in 1991-1994), Leonid Kuchma (President in 1994-2005) and Viktor Yushchenko (President of Ukraine in 2005-2010), during which he discussed with them, in particular, ways to achieve peace in the east of the country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Poroshenko did not invite another of his predecessors, Viktor Yanukovych, to the meeting.
“During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the further development of the Ukrainian state, ending Russian aggression in Donbass and achieving peace,” Poroshenko’s official website said on Thursday.
He noted the important role of three ex-presidents in the formation of the Ukrainian state.
Petro Poroshenko also gave them the honors of the President of Ukraine - the anniversary medal “25 Years of Independence of Ukraine,” which they were awarded in 2016 on the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
