This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, assessing the deportation of ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili from Ukraine, whose opinion was quoted by the Kiev online newspaper “Strana”.
“Petro Poroshenko shot himself in the foot. He thinks that Saakashvili's expulsion will solve his problem of remaining in power. And he will only unite his opponents. Poroshenko’s problem is not only and not so much Saakashvili, but pathological greed, which, against the backdrop of impoverished citizens, plays with new colors. Multiplied by authoritarian habits, this creates an explosive cocktail that will result in a hangover for the entire country: we are not just losing money, we are losing time with Poroshenko. And he definitely won’t be brought back,” the deputy laments.
It is noteworthy that Leshchenko was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada on the lists of the presidential party. Having become a people's deputy, he began to harshly criticize Poroshenko, but nevertheless does not intend to leave the BPP faction.
