Poroshenko summoned for questioning in tax evasion case
No sooner had former President Petro Poroshenko returned to the country than he was again summoned for questioning. The State Bureau of Investigation summoned former President Petro Poroshenko on August 12 in a tax evasion case, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is reported by the acting Head of the Department for Public Relations and Media of the State Bureau of Investigation Maxim Bilousenko.
“Petro Poroshenko has been summoned for questioning at 9:30 on August 12,” Ukrinform quotes him as saying.
According to Bilousenko, the investigator intends to interrogate the fifth president in the case of possible tax evasion during the purchase of TV Channel Direct LLC.
Let us note that according to the statement of the director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Roman Truba, his department is already investigating 11 criminal proceedings against Petro Poroshenko.
In turn, Ukrainian lawyer and initiator of the criminal prosecution of the ex-president Andrei Portnov addressed Poroshenko through his Telegram channel.
“Peter Alekseevich, I inform you that former President Atambayev has just been detained in Kyrgyzstan. I’m not hinting, I’m just informing you from my Telegram channel, as you asked,” Portnov wrote.
