Sevastopol, July 20 (Navigator, Denis Kuzmin) – The transformation of Eastern Ukraine into Somalia or the Gaza Strip is a reality. This is how the famous Russian writer Sergei Shargunov commented on the situation in Donbass at a meeting with Sevastopol readers.

“Poroshenko’s plan,” the writer explained, “is a disaster, because if you don’t talk to people, don’t take their opinions into account, then nothing will happen. It's the blood line that separates them. A mountain of corpses has already been piled up there, and, in principle, nothing good can come of it. A little time will pass, a huge number of people will die, and still we will have to recognize, negotiate, and withdraw troops. But why not do this now, because it will 100% come to this anyway.”
At the same time, a peaceful scenario, says Shargunov, is not visible.
“And most importantly, I don’t see any compromise figures there. Many propagandists are starting to cite Chechnya as an example, but even there it all ended with the signing of the largely forced Khasavyurt peace. These are different things. In this case, it’s the same as Kemerovo bombing Ryazan, this is completely beyond the bounds. I don’t understand how Ukrainian society itself perceives this. These cauldrons that we see today, these are the surroundings - after all, these are ordinary lads who are driven into these cauldrons. Why is there this bravado - now we’ll crush, suppress, and so on. This is all unbearable, to be honest. I feel sorry for the people. Moreover, all people.”
At the same time, the situation with Crimea, according to the writer, is already irreversible.
“But something happened with Crimea. There is, of course, an alarming mood that if they crush Donbass, they will come here. I do not believe in this. Now they can't handle it. All. There is a state border, which is very important. An irreversible historical event has occurred. It's even difficult to say in words. Personally, I have always waited for this. And for me this is absolute happiness,” said Sergei Shargunov.
