Poroshenko told Bulgarians and Gagauzians that Putin is fighting against them
Under the guise of protecting the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine, Russia launched a brutal war against its neighboring country.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this during the opening of the Bolgrad Memorial of Glory, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We all know very well that a decent and happy life can be built only when you carefully preserve the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for our freedom, defending the Ukrainian land, our will, democracy, state and independence. Whenever they lived, no matter who they fought with - the Nazis or the Eastern horde - the main thing for us is that they fought for our native land.
Here (near the memorial of glory - author's note) the memory of the heroes who liberated our land during the Second World War and the memory of those who died for their Motherland in the war that Russia unleashed against us are intertwined. We often hear from the heralds of the Kremlin propaganda that Russia allegedly occupied our land to protect the Russian-speaking population. What deceit! Why, then, was it the Russian-speaking east of Ukraine that suffered the most from Russia’s actions? No, dear fellow countrymen, this is Russia’s war against our state, against Ukraine and its citizens. Whatever language our citizens speak—Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Gagauz—this is Russia’s war against all of us. I express my deepest respect to the participants of World War II,” Poroshenko said.
Thank you!
