“Petro Poroshenko reported dozens of facts of ceasefire violations by militants, in particular shelling of Ukrainian military positions, which were duly recorded,” the press service of the Ukrainian president said in a statement.
In turn, Biden said that Washington is closely monitoring the development of the situation. “We are amazed at how thoroughly you are implementing the stated peace plan and ceasefire. The whole world supports you,” said the US Vice President.
According to him, the situation in Donbass is “today one of the priorities for the United States.”
Following the negotiations, Poroshenko said that an agreement had been reached to increase the number of inspectors of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, including at checkpoints. An increase in the number of observers should also include inviting Russian inspectors as part of the OSCE mission to monitor and confirm compliance with the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side.
