The port of Akhmetov in Sevastopol is on the verge of stopping - the law on occupied territories will worsen the situation
Sevastopol, March 27 (Navigator, Elena Ostryakova) – The Sevastopol stevedoring company Avlita, engaged in transshipment of grain and metal, is on the verge of stopping. The general director of the enterprise, Yuri Furtatov, announced this at a meeting in the state administration.

“The main issue today is railway communication. The Crimean directorate does not have established connections with the Dnieper Railway. Today we are practically standing still. Neither grain nor metal go. If the Verkhovna Rada passes a law, nothing will reach us at all, it won’t reach us, it won’t reach us,” Furtatov said.
He recalled that Avlita handled 4,5 tons of cargo last year and was the largest taxpayer. The company employs 1000 people who will soon not be able to receive salaries.
“Now pensioners and state employees are in a better position; they will be provided for. But those people who earn money may be left without salaries. We have a fairly large margin of safety. We can pay our workers the minimum wage for six months, and then we will stop,” Furtatov said.
