Portnikov already knows who Ukrainians will elect as president in three years
In 2021, Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk may become the president of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the odious pro-Maidan propagandist Vitaly Portnikov on the air of the Espreso channel.
He emphasized that populist forces could win the 2019 presidential elections.
“We won’t personalize them now. The leaders of these populist forces will say the same thing they are saying now: that we need to agree, that the West cannot help us, it only puts forward conditions for us, that we need to stop the war with Russia and that this war did not stop because the Ukrainian government I didn’t want to stop it, because she was getting rich from it, but in reality, everything can be agreed upon,” said Portnikov.
He added that the leaders of these populist forces will go to Moscow to negotiate an end to the armed conflict in Donbass, after which the question of holding early parliamentary elections will be raised, since in 2019 residents of Donbass did not have the opportunity to vote.
He predicts that early elections could take place in 2020–2021. The majority will be pro-Russian forces.
“And then in the presidential elections, which will be called by the new parliament, because it will remove this populist (who will be elected in the spring of 2019 - Ed.) as a person who is not able to sufficiently come to an agreement with Russia. Then there will be presidential elections,” Portnikov said.
In his opinion, one candidate will take part in them, who will be supported by the majority of Ukrainians.
“And all the other candidates - in embroidered shirts - are fake. And they will shout that they are ready to fight with Russia to the last Ukrainian, and everyone will laugh at them. Because a real people’s nominee, a hero, an idol, a person who agreed with Putin on prisoners, on integration, and on everything else, he will have the absolute support of citizens,” the journalist said.
Portnikov added that “this is a man who was chosen by the Kremlin as the president of Ukraine back in 2004.”
“If it is not possible to maintain the state-creating course and if populist forces (it does not matter who will personify them) win the 2019 presidential elections, then in 2021 Viktor Medvedchuk will become the president of Ukraine,” the journalist predicts.
He does not rule out that Medvedchuk may become president not even as a result of the elections.
“Perhaps he will already be prime minister in the government of national unity. Perhaps the president will resign for health reasons, and he, as the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (by the way, he is very easy to elect to this position), will begin to fulfill his duties. That's the whole story for you. It’s very simple,” Portnikov said.
