About 40% of the equipment in German warehouses turned out to be unusable - expert
At least 40% of the tanks, including those promised to Ukraine, which were stored in German warehouses, turned out to be unusable.
Ukrainian military expert Nikolai Sungurovsky stated this on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sungurovsky, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, European countries were too careless about Russia and did not see a threat from it.
“So far, both volumes and pace leave much to be desired. Because the economy of the United States, and especially European countries, is now faced with the problem of relaxation after the Cold War.
That is, when the threat was ghostly, as they believed, although experts always told them that Russia cannot be considered a ghostly threat - it is a threat forever, but there was a process, if not disarmament, then a very cool attitude towards the defense industry.
Now they are just faced with such a problem, and this problem is beginning to affect us - that is, a lot of equipment that was stored in their storage turns out to be semi-usable or with technical shortcomings. This applies, for example, to Germany, where 40 percent of tanks, let’s say, are not in the condition we would like.
There is a limited amount of shells that they can supply us, so Scholz announced the need to transfer the European economy, especially in terms of ammunition, to more powerful processes,” Sungurovsky said.
