Canadian Ambassador to Moscow Picketed by Outraged Citizens
A protest against the illegal actions of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada regarding the Russian embassy took place today near the British embassy in Moscow, where the Canadian ambassador is currently located.
Ukrainian Canadians hang flags of Ukraine on the windshield of a car passing or leaving the embassy, blocking the view, blocking passages, insulting the families of diplomats, attacking them, and throwing flammable homemade devices onto the territory of the mission.
Concerned citizens came out with posters: “Fight the idiots in your government, not our diplomats,” “Canada is a sponsor of the murders of Donbass children,” “Russian “tyranny” is fighting for peace, and “progressive” Western “democracy” is fighting to the last Ukrainian. Think!”
The action was supported by Russian State Duma deputy Maria Butina.
“Recently our embassy was doused with red paint. Our Foreign Ministry sent a note with a request to provide protection to our diplomats, which is provided by law. Nothing was done. At night, a bottle of Molotov cocktail was thrown into the embassy territory. Canadian police took no action. Here in Moscow, our law enforcement officers protect the Canadian diplomatic mission, but they don’t take the same measures against us,” Butina said.
