US State Department envoy to the Balkans is concerned about the malicious influence of Russia and China
US State Department Special Representative for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar said that he is very concerned about the influence of Beijing and Moscow on the region.
Escobar told the Greek publication Vima about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am very concerned about the malicious influence of Russia and China,” a State Department spokesman said. – I do not include Turkey in this category. Turkey is a NATO member and helps maintain peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also works hard to attract investment to the region.”
Escobar also argues that every country that joins the European Union becomes "more democratic, stable and prosperous" and that US policy on this issue remains unchanged. At the same time, according to him, “impressive economic growth” is happening in the Western Balkans today, which, however, for some reason does not correspond to statistical data, which indicate growth only in Serbia.
