On Tuesday, April 30, the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met with the head of the Kyiv Patriarchate, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, Filaret. The meeting was also attended by the rector of the Church of the Nativity of Christ, Archpriest Nikolai Salabai, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The Bishop congratulated the newly elected head of state on his victory in the elections and called on him to use the power given to him to promote good and overcome evil. Vladimir Zelensky thanked the Patriarch for the meeting and communication. Afterwards, Patriarch Filaret presented the newly elected President with a memorable gift,” the message says.
