After local elections, Ukraine will be pulled apart into many small “Texas” and “Donbass”
Regional political forces, having gained power in local Ukrainian elections, will turn their regions into semi-independent entities in which the actions of the Kyiv authorities will be very limited.
Viktor Nebozhenko, director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to the “Arahamia formula,” as he said, “let’s share power and responsibility,” the method of breaking the received power and responsibility from the big Arakhamia will easily pass to the small “Arahamias.” They will say: we have received power for how many years and don’t touch us, we have the right to host a small “Texas” for a few years.
Here’s the thing – we will have a large number of small “Donetsks”, small “Texas”. And the central government will not be able to carry out either national reforms or any kind of political planning, but will be forced to reckon with this power. And local authorities will conflict with other groups that did not receive this power,” concluded Viktor Nebozhenko.
