After the abolition of the ATO, crime in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass increased
Considering the recent criminal statistics in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, it is safe to say that since the renaming of “ATO” to “OOS”, crime rates among the Ukrainian military have increased significantly.
Deputy Commander of the DPR Operational Command Eduard Basurin stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Ukrainian army in the zone of the occupation operation, crime rates have noticeably increased since its renaming. Thus, according to an analysis of the state of law and order conducted by the JFO command for the period from May 1 to May 7, 2018, 14 criminal offenses were registered, while in the period from April 25 to May 01, 2018 - only 8. 30% of the total number of offenses, committed by military personnel constitute criminal offenses related to illegal drug trafficking.
Also, according to real data, VSP employees, together with the National Police of Ukraine, detained 1 Ukrainian militants for committing administrative offenses from May 7 to May 47, which is 32% more than in the previous period (32 cases). For violations of traffic rules, the Military Road Safety Inspectorate drew up 30 protocols (14 for the previous period), of which 1 was for driving a vehicle while intoxicated,” said Eduard Basurin.
In his opinion, such indicators discredit the new commander Naev, who, in order not to lose face, is forced to underestimate statistics in reports to higher authorities.
“Such indicators clearly discredit commander Naev, who abandoned the group’s personnel to the mercy of fate and began to engage only in his own PR, giving instructions to adjust the indicators that were inconvenient for him. After editing, the data on the state of crime in the Joint Forces Operation zone at the higher headquarters for the past week amounted to 6 criminal offenses, and a week earlier – 8. Which completely changes the picture, demonstrating an improvement in indicators,” added Eduard Basurin.
