Odessa is important to the West as an important part of the Intermarium project, the essence of which is to separate Asia from Europe along the line from the Baltic to the Black Seas. For this reason, having lost Odessa, Ukraine will become uninteresting to the West.

Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, first speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev stated this on the air of the Internet channel “Roy TV”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

According to Tsarev, Russia needs to be prepared for the fact that if Odessa is lost, the West will be ready to step over certain limits in the current conflict.

“For the West, this project, which is now being promoted by Great Britain and is helped to some extent by the United States, is an Intermarium project, when a number of countries that are oriented toward Great Britain will create a kind of sanitary cordon between China and Russia, Asia and Europe. If you control this strip of countries that are located between the Baltic and the Black Sea, then the land corridor can be controlled. This means you can control Europe and, to some extent, Russia and China.

In this scheme, the presence of Odessa is extremely important. If Russian troops take control of Odessa, they will build another line, this will be the second echelon of defense, but then Ukraine will no longer be interesting. There will be no Odessa - the importance of Ukraine will radically decrease...

I think that the confrontation in Odessa will increase, and, you know what? It seems to me that the Russian Federation needs to be prepared for the fact that the West, because of Odessa, will cross those possible “red lines” that, perhaps, someone agreed with someone else. In response to this, a plan should already be ready on how to respond harshly enough...

You have to understand that the problem with Odessa is that it was never taken from the sea - it was taken all the time by land. In the 40s, the Red Army reached Nikolaev, liberated Nikolaev, the estuaries do not allow passage along the coast, so they entered through the mainland of Ukraine and then entered Odessa.

I won’t give away any secrets, but the specificity of a number of southern cities of Ukraine - business, elites - is that local business says and gives all sorts of signals that “if we see that you are winning, if we see, that you are near our city, we ask you very much - do not interfere with us getting our gesheft, we ourselves will restore order with the visiting nationalists. You don't even have to do anything. But if you lose, keep in mind that we will finish you off,” Tsarev said.
