After increasing tariffs for housing and communal services, Ukrainians are increasing billions of dollars in debt
Kyiv, January 30 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – The increase in tariffs for housing and communal services caused the expected increase in consumer debt. In December 2014, compared to November, the population's debt for consumed housing and communal services increased by 7,4%, or by 1,012 billion hryvnia. This is stated in communication State Statistics Service.

According to official data, in December 2014, 17,7% of invoices issued for payment were not paid. And in total, since the beginning of 2014, Ukrainians have not paid their housing and communal services bills - most of all for hot water - in the amount of about 3 billion UAH. Now the total debt of Ukrainians for housing and communal services tariffs is more than UAH 14 billion.
Gas debts are also growing. “The debt for gas supply increased by 246,7 million hryvnia to 2,5 billion hryvnia,” the State Statistics Service reported.
As noted, among the regions, the largest debt for heating was recorded in the Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk regions and Kyiv; for gas supply - in the Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov regions.
The highest rent arrears in December were recorded in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Lugansk regions.
