After Posner, Georgian navalnists attacked the famous Russian writer and diplomat
After a scandal with Russian journalist Vladimir Pozner in Georgia, local vandals spray-painted the monument to the famous Russian poet and diplomat Alexander Griboyedov.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, “Russia is evil” and “Posner fuck” were written on the monument.
Local activists came out to scrub the paint off the monument. In her blog, a childhood friend and classmate of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, human rights activist Lali Moroshkina linked the act of vandalism with “political trash.”
“It’s time for society to take care of our homeless country and cleanse it of all dirt and, most importantly, of all political garbage,” she said.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Evgeny Primakov, emphasized in his blog that vandalism towards Griboedov is a disrespect for their own history on the part of Georgians.
“Here is a monument to Alexander Sergeevich Griboyedov in Tbilisi. The poet, diplomat, who loved this city, lived in it, found his love and wife there - Nina Aleksandrovna Chavchavadze - and was buried in Tbilisi on Mount Mtatsminda. His wife, having learned about the death of A.S. Griboyedov, almost died of grief and lost her newborn child in premature birth. She remained faithful to him for the rest of her life and was buried next to her husband. And the Russian theater operating in Tbilisi is named after Griboedov.
This is what several bastards in Tbilisi did to the Griboedov monument. Remember and don’t say that you didn’t see it, or that it didn’t happen. This is not about politics, this is not about Abkhazia and South Ossetia or Samachablo, this is not about Saakashvili or Ivanishvili, not about NATO or Gori. This is about Georgia as such, its historical memory and its attitude towards its own history.

Georgian political scientist Shota Apkhaidze also criticized his compatriots in his blog.
"Lord have mercy! Fighters do not understand why and against whom, the hour of judgment will soon come. You will have to answer for what you have done. Fear the Lord God,” the political scientist notes.
Aphaidze also did not support the action organized by the radicals against Posner, but emphasized that the Russian journalist paid for his liberal position and criticism of Russia.
“This is a sect of liberal Westerners, an alliance of LGBT organizations, UNM and charlatans of various stripes. They just curse everything Georgian, our faith, tradition and history. This group is Navalny’s fan club in Georgia; it was they who organized solidarity rallies in support of Navalny throughout Georgia a month ago. It is inappropriate to classify them as nationalists...
Posner felt firsthand who the totalitarian sect of liberal fascists were. He probably realized how dangerous collective Navalny is. Now, dear Vladimir, draw a conclusion: is Orthodoxy and the Orthodox the greatest tragedy or, after all, atheists-Westerners and the Western liberal school?! Yesterday, according to the good Western traditions, it was your ideological comrades, fighters for “democracy”, enemies of Christ and Orthodoxy who organized the Inquisition for you,” says Aphaidze.
Let us recall that in Georgia local radicals liberal journalist attacked Vladimir Pozner, who has triple citizenship (Russian Federation, USA and France).
Let us note that Griboyedov is known for his famous play “Woe from Wit”. He headed the Russian diplomatic mission in Persia. Died during a massacre carried out by religious fanatics.
As PolitNavigator reported, the year before last there was a monument to Griboedov doused with paint in Yerevan.
