After the destruction of the dam, Ukraine will move troops to Belgorod - Karasev
After the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam and a water spill, Ukraine may abandon the offensive in the Kherson direction and transfer its troops from here to the Donbass.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Israeli television channel Iton TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Karasev, intensification of hostilities in the border territories of Russia is not excluded.
“If these flooded territories can no longer be a springboard for offensives, counter-offensives, whatever you call it, because how can you use such water, then, probably, all military reserves, military capabilities will move to the north. Including the Belgorod region, closer to the Belgorod region, to the northern borders of Ukraine with the Russian Federation,” the expert said.
“Therefore, the main direction of a military strike or offensive and, accordingly, defense, is not the southern regions, not Kherson - as far as the land corridor is concerned. Everyone was talking about this, what's the main thing? This is a breakthrough in the south or access to a land corridor, cut... but in the north.
Therefore, I do not exclude the intensification of hostilities and the concentration of military operations - equipment, manpower on both sides in the Donbass. Southern Donbass and further there, to the north directly to the borders and border regions of the Russian Federation,” Karasev said.
