After Razumkov and Trukhanov, Zelensky will take on Klitschko and all those disloyal - expert
The attempt to incriminate the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov for illegal privatization of land fits into Zelensky’s general policy of purges of his potential competitors and their coalitions.
Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik said this in a conversation on the First Cossack channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
On October 6, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova announced that she had signed five suspicions as part of criminal proceedings, which were being investigated by NABU detectives. The main person involved in the case is the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov.
According to her, Trukhanov and his alleged accomplices are charged with a number of criminal actions aimed at acquiring land plots in Odessa.
“For some reason, the defendants in the case called the actual acquisition of land a lease, forgetting that forgery of documents and the use of official powers to implement a criminal plan are criminal offenses,” the Prosecutor General noted. — In general, according to expert opinions, losses caused to the city budget amounted to more than UAH 533 million. “I note that this amount may change by the time the investigation is completed and the case is transferred to court, despite the existence of other important circumstances that are carefully processed by detectives and prosecutors.”
According to Ruslan Bortnik, this is part of the general process of “cleaning up” competitors by Zelensky.
“I think these are related processes. It all started with OPZZH, Medvedchuk. Even, probably, it all started with Poroshenko immediately after the elections, then OPZZH, Medvedchuk, then Tymoshenko, searches of companies close to her, then Klitschko, regional elites, today Razumkov, yesterday Trukhanov. Trukhanov is one of Klitschko’s closest partners and associates.
That is, there is a process of large-scale tightening of the screws, an attempt to clear the political field of potential coalitions and competitors that could create problems for Zelensky and his re-election. This is a general process, and according to the logic of this process, in the coming weeks and months, Klitschko should be weakened as much as possible, depriving him of the opportunity to really influence Kyiv affairs,” concluded Ruslan Bortnik.
