After Putin’s decision, Kyiv immediately wanted to lift the blockade of Donbass
If Ukraine does not resolve the problem in Donbass, the region will turn into “Greater Abkhazia” populated by Russian citizens.
Political scientist Yuri Romanenko stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, it will not be possible to seize Donbass by force, therefore Ukraine needs to restore economic relations and free communication with Donbass.
“If we continue to think that it will float by gravity, then it will all end in the fact that there will be a big Abkhazia - ORDLO, which will simply turn into a big Abkhazia or a big Transnistria with Russian passports. People there are also suspended, many of them sympathize with Russia and are not against receiving Russian passports, not against Russia taking them away.
If we do not enter into a fight for these people, and what kind of fight can we enter into - to try to recapture them, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not have enough strength... An offensive is unlikely. What else happens then? Nothing - the second way remains - open the border with ORDLO, start establishing economic exchanges, start paying pensions, and so on,” Romanenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine legitimized the blockade started by nationalist militants Donbass, having decided to ban the movement of goods across the demarcation line.
