After the “revolution of dignity,” a popular Ukrainian singer is forced to beg
The once famous Ukrainian artist Ivo Bobul, who previously performed at concerts in support of Viktor Yanukovych, today barely makes ends meet, often turning to old friends from the industry for help.
He stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, now there are times when he has no money to buy groceries or pay bills.
“The prices are no longer what they were when we worked. It’s impossible to name those prices, because people are simply poor and won’t invite you. Already half of what we received, maybe half of that. There is nothing to pay for the apartment, because there is simply nothing. Life has knocked me down a little... They help. Sasha Serov helps, the guys here help as much as they can. There are some concerts, we go to these old clubs. I’m going abroad now because I was invited. I’m going to sing a little and earn a few kopecks for living. My situation is very difficult. It would seem that the singer is so prominent,” Bobul said.
