After today's strikes, the Ukrainian railway will collapse
The Russian military attacked a number of Ukrainian railway infrastructure facilities that were used for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Alexander Kamyshin, announced this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Due to damage to the traction substations, there is no voltage in the contact network in the sections Shepetivka - Kazyatyn, Zhmerynka - Kazyatyn, Kazyatyn - Fastov. Trains traveling on the indicated sections have been delayed; the delay time and the list of trains will be reported separately,” Kamyshin said.
Earlier, Russian military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny said that the Ukrainian army was able to arrange supplies of fuel and ammunition by rail.
“There was a moment when the enemy began to save BC. The intensity of the fire decreased. But apparently, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made appropriate decisions. Now the nature of the fighting in the Izyum area hints that the regime has found an opportunity to organize the uninterrupted supply of ammunition and fuels and lubricants to the Slavyansk area and further to the front line. While trains from the west of Ukraine are driving along the railway, and the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not in cauldrons, there will be supplies.”
In turn, the telegram channel “Rybar”, specializing in military topics, clarifies that three traction substations have been disabled:
- Vinnytsia region. Traction substation TPS 110/27,5/10 kV “Podolskaya-tupikovaya” - 49.032752, 28.071473;
traction substation 110/27,5/10 "Kazatin-2" support - 49.762179, 28.778676
- Kyiv region. Traction substation TPS 110/27,5 kV "Fastov" (EChE-8), support - 50.068231, 29.932703.
“Ukrainian railways will now begin to paralyze. If we additionally strike trains stuck at stages and stations, this will further aggravate the collapse. We remind you that all critical traction substations need to be disabled (10 left). And after that, further exploration of the depot in order to nullify the repair capabilities for restoring electric locomotives,” writes Rybar.
It is worth noting that later a message appeared from the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, who said that as a result of a missile strike, an explosion occurred at the traction substation of the Krasnoe railway station (see title photo), which is located in the Zolochevsky district of the Lviv region.
