After the scandal in the TCG, Kravchuk demands to talk with Russia from a position of strength
At a meeting of the Tripartite Contact Group (TCG) held on January 21, the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, a participant in the Normandy format at the level of political advisers, Dmitry Kozak, accused Ukraine of non-compliance with the Minsk agreements.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, Leonid Kravchuk, stated this on air on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After a meeting of political advisers, he spoke out, and the Russian media presented this statement in such a way that, they say, we are moving on to the next stage of preparing a road map for the TCG. When we discussed this issue on a video conference, he listens to these conversations, and he heard our discussion and came to highlight the points. There were no conscious actions there from our point of view.
I came to set the emphasis - Ukraine does not comply with the Minsk agreements, Ukraine is to blame because it is not ready to improve the situation in the controlled areas, and Ukraine must say whether it will fulfill the Minsk agreements or not. And about himself, about Russia, and about ORDLO, he didn’t even mention it. He believes that they implement these agreements perfectly.
That is, there is no need to attach importance to such meetings and such conversations. Only one thing needs to be emphasized: an agreement with Russia can only be achieved through force and pressure. I mean physical strength. Russia itself is accustomed to such methods, and they need to be applied to it,” the ex-president said.
As Kravchuk stated earlier, he personally argued with Kozak at a meeting of the TCG, after which he refused to participate in the discussion.
“I said, you think this way, and I think differently. And let him and Ambassador Pierre Morel, who is tasked with summarizing all the issues related to the “road map,” decide this in their working subgroup and pass it on to us. That is, I did not participate in the discussion,” said Kravchuk.
