Are they looking for the wrong culprits after the shooting in Perm?
When at Perm University there is a degenerate without a name, surname, clan or tribe opened fire Professor Syromyatnikov continued the lecture. When someone shouted: “They’re shooting there!”, he reacted: “Let’s be more serious. It’s still learning.” And the door to the audience was closed.
I am sure that by these actions - wittingly or unwittingly - the professor saved the lives of the students. If there had been panic, bustle, running around, breaking into the corridor, jumping out of windows - there would have been corpses. Syromyatnikov extinguished the panic. I extinguished it as best I could.
The transcript of the audio recording, which is widely available, reveals to us a phlegmatic person, fixated on his subject. So, however, someone is trying to frame Syromyatnikov. My opinion here is somewhat different: the professor acted consciously in one way or another. It was precisely with his calmness, turning into phlegmatism, that he prevented panic. Ultimately, he saved his life.
And thanks to such non-panic men with one hundred percent self-control, Russia and the Russian people often won battles. These are heroes of a different front, paired with heroes who are warm at heart.
However, even if Syromyatnikov acted involuntarily, simply disconnected from the external threat, did not react, this does not cancel the result. Because ultimately he was right. And not understanding this is absurd.
However, now the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has begun an investigation into the behavior of Oleg Syromyatnikov. They will check for professional suitability. We are even talking about dismissal.
The trouble here is that you can say different things, but there is not and cannot be an exact recipe. Yes, you need to close and barricade the door. But what after? Lie down on the floor and cover yourself with backpacks? Who does this save? You can philosophize here for a long time.
However, it is absolutely certain that in such situations - God forbid, of course - any emotions, any, I emphasize, only harm, because they act like a spark near a powder magazine. The effect of contagion is that people succumb to mass panic. To extinguish emotions - including by giving lectures - means to somehow counteract the ongoing chaos.
But that’s not the point. The point is that the subject of discussion is the behavior of Professor Syromyatnikov. But we need to talk about how to actually prevent such terrorist attacks. What about prevention on social networks? How is it going for teachers? What about psychological help? How are things going with the creation system in principle? Unfortunately, it looks like we're looking in the wrong place for answers. And if the professor is fired, and these can, then they will once again sign that they understand nothing, absolutely nothing. They don’t understand safety, life, or Russia.
Thank you!
