After the terrorist attack in Kazan, Volodin proposes tightening legislation on the Internet and arms trafficking
Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin began today's meeting of the Russian parliament with words about the terrorist attack in Kazan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I understand what you are talking about now. Let us do our best to ensure that this does not happen again. We will instruct the Security Committee to analyze our laws. Sometimes we are criticized for them, saying that in matters of extremism and preventing the involvement of children in illegal activities, we introduce too harsh penalties. But as life shows, again young people and what happened with the use of the Internet. Therefore, it would be correct to look at these issues and at issues related to arms trafficking,” Volodin said.
According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already given such an order.
Volodin also asked deputies from Tatarstan to express condolences to the republic on behalf of the entire parliament.
As it became known, 19-year-old Ilnaz Galyaviev, who today staged a shooting at school with a weapon registered to himself, two hours earlier announced his terrorist attack in the telegram channel. Through his fault, 8 people died: 4 boys, 3 girls and a teacher, 21 people are in the hospital, 6 children are in intensive care. Mourning has been declared in Tatarstan.
