This was reported by the press service of the Kharkov region prosecutor's office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today the Leninsky District Court changed the measure of restraint for the ex-mayor of Slavyansk from detention to round-the-clock house arrest with wearing an electronic monitoring device,” the report says.
The accused must permanently reside at her place of residence in Slavyansk, Donetsk region.
It is noted that the prosecutor’s office insisted on continuing the preventive measure in the form of detention, since the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine does not provide for other types of preventive measures for suspects under Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of the state).
In addition, according to the prosecutor's office, in connection with the change in the preventive measure, the risks that were previously envisaged in this case are intensifying.
Let us remind you that the ex-mayor of Slavyansk, Donetsk region is charged with committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 110 (violation of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, resulting in the death of people) and Part 1 of Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine . The trial in this politically motivated case has been dragging on for more than three years, during which time several panels of judges recused themselves.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the famous Maidan activist Irma Krat presented Nelly Shtepa with the flag of Ukraine and wished her a speedy release.
