After the murder of Zakharchenko, not a single Ukrainian politician feels safe
Ukraine has entered a new phase of political terror - today, more than ever, the likelihood of an assassination attempt on senior officials is high.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, assessing the possible consequences of the murder of DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko in Donetsk.
“We are entering a new wave of political terror. There is a very high probability of assassination attempts on senior officials; after all, it is not very common to assassinate the heads of even unrecognized states. Today, probably, not a single politician in our region will be able to feel safe after this. We are entering a new round of the era of possible acts of political terror. We remember throwing grenades near the Verkhovna Rada, unfortunately, these events are pushing us towards such a scenario,” Bortnik said.
