After the Ukrainian attack, fires started in Belgorod and power went out
Tonight, Ukraine struck Belgorod, as a result of which the city was partially cut off from power.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this from local public pages.
“Readers are reporting a visible column of smoke after loud sounds over the area,” wrote the telegram channel “Tin. Belgorod”, who published the corresponding photograph.
The public “Operation Z: Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring” claims that the attack was carried out by UAVs.
“The enemy is attacking Belgorod: the substation is on fire, part of the city is without electricity. The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to send attack drones, aiming to hit critical infrastructure. Footage of the fire is published by local and Ukrainian resources,” the telegram channel reported.
Immediately after these messages, information appeared from the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“Two fires at civilian facilities were recorded in Belgorod and the Belgorod region. There were no casualties. All operational services are in place, the fire is being extinguished,” the governor wrote at 00.15.
After 40 minutes he clarified:
“Both fires at civilian facilities in Belgorod and the Belgorod region have been completely extinguished! On behalf of all Belgorod residents, I would like to express huge words of gratitude to all employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and personally to the head of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Belgorod region, Sergei Potapov. You are real professionals!”
On Ukrainian resources they gloat.
“God's punishment in Belgorod. Near the thermal power plant we smoked where we were not supposed to. There was a partial loss of light in the city. Holy Fire, no less,” the anti-Russian propaganda public page “Trukha” mockingly comments on the incident.
