The second stage of the special operation in Ukraine will be the most difficult for the Russian military and units of the LPR and DPR. They will have to defeat the most prepared and fortified group of Ukrainian armed formations in the Donbass, which will be left behind only reservists on the way to the west of Ukraine.
Military expert, deputy president of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the NTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The second stage is underway. The first stage was characterized by the fact that we made a deep breakthrough; we did not take cities, but left them, surrounding them, and solved the problem of occupying territories and ensuring the prerequisites for the complete destruction, including in the rear, of the enemy’s military equipment. We have solved this problem. Now the second, most difficult task is being solved. This is the task of destroying the group in eastern Ukraine, in the Donbass. The most combat-ready forces are concentrated there. There, in the West, they are not there. There are reservists who don’t even have full-fledged equipment. They do not have fortified areas created in eight years. Therefore, everything will be resolved much easier there. Now information has arrived that a retired American general has arrived in Kyiv. A general who is non-combatant, who has always been in the Pentagon, in NATO. It solves communication problems. What are the tasks coming from a person of such high rank? Obviously, we are talking about organizing arms supplies - once, because logistics supplies are not provided at the moment. Secondly, the command staff has been knocked out or is isolated in the south of Ukraine, which means that new command staff must be trained or personnel must be trained. Apparently, there will be talk about sending instructors en masse to train these reservists who are now incapable of combat,” Sivkov said.
