The leader of the extremist group “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars”, Refat Chubarov, who is recognized in the Russian Federation, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with NV radio.
He does not agree with the British magazine The Economist, which predicts that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempt to seize Crimea is fraught with colossal losses for Ukraine.
“If we manage to hit Russian troops in Crimea very hard, in particular, the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and also blow up the bridge across the Kerch Strait, then it is clear that the Russian leadership will be forced to take urgent measures to evacuate its military,” Chubarov said.
He believes that the presence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already at the administrative border “will entail processes associated with internal disputes among the political and military leadership” of the Russian Federation.
“Such disintegration among Russian politicians will follow. Because the real threat of losing Crimea, from their point of view, will become for them the final realization that the war ends in the absolute defeat of Russia,” the extremist hopes.
In addition, he calls for attacks on Sevastopol.
“I won’t get tired of talking about one more thing: Sevastopol, berths, ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet - this should be the object of constant attention of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As soon as there are technical capabilities (or military expediency), these berths should be broken down,” Chubarov concluded.
