After Poroshenko’s visit to Trump, Ukraine changed its mind about bringing the law on “Donbass reintegration” to Minsk

The Ukrainian side will not submit Poroshenko’s bill on “Donbass reintegration” to the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk for discussion, although a few days before Poroshenko’s visit to the United States, official Kyiv threatened to present this law in Minsk.

This was reported by the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup Irina Gerashchenko on Facebook.

“The bill on the reintegration of the occupied territories remains the focus of attention and discussion. In the near future, it will be discussed at the National Security and Defense Council and at the parliamentary informal Minsk platform created in the Rada... In Minsk, within the framework of working groups, the bill will not be discussed, of course, because it is the sovereign right of Ukraine to improve its legislation aimed at restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she wrote.

At the same time, Gerashchenko assures that this bill was not discussed during Petro Poroshenko’s visit to the United States and Brussels.

“No documents or bills were presented or discussed at any meetings. But, in a comprehensive manner, Ukraine’s position on de-occupation, demilitarization, and reintegration of Donbass was discussed at all meetings. Parts of this plan will also be recorded in the corresponding bill; they are completely based on the Minsk agreements,” Gerashchenko assures.
