Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

“Since Crimea gained independence and then joined Russia, we have transferred there a total of 55 billion and 13 billion rubles. That is, about 70 billion rubles have now already been spent on ensuring that these regions begin to breathe like other regions,” the official noted.

According to Dmitry Medvedev, the funds were used not only for development purposes, infrastructure, but also to ensure that “the people who live there, who work in the public sector, begin to receive the same salary as in other regions.”
