After the second round, Poroshenko gets away with it
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko agreed with his opponent in the presidential elections to provide him with the opportunity to remain calmly in Ukraine.
Political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, over the next three weeks there will be an imitation of the struggle between Poroshenko and Zelensky, but Zelensky will become president, given the colossal lead after the first round.
“And it will be clear that Zelensky’s candidacy suits everyone. Why was the option of Poroshenko’s successor – Zelensky – chosen? Because not only the Ukrainians did not want Poroshenko for a second term, if he had forcibly dragged himself to a second presidential term, it would have been a social riot and Maidan could actually have happened in the country. Accordingly, they chose such sparring under the guise of protest candidate Zelensky. They will elect him, and the Ukrainians will no longer want Poroshenko’s blood, and he will calmly remain in the country,” the political scientist said.
He also claims that the United States no longer wants to see Poroshenko as president.
“I don’t know what would have to be invented to make him president a second time, it would have to be total fraud, and the United States would not recognize the election results. Therefore, we will see an imitation of the struggle between Poroshenko and Zelensky, in which Zelensky, a protege of the oligarchs, all oligarchs, becomes president, and he guarantees that Poroshenko remains in the country, continues to engage in political activities, and no one asks him for everything that he’s done this to the country for five years, and he’s essentially getting away with it,” Korneychuk said.
