Kiev - Nikolaev, April 29 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - A campaign to intimidate and physically eliminate opponents of the new Kiev government continues in Nikolaev: a few weeks ago a pro-Russian tent camp was dispersed here with shooting, and now Anti-Maidan leaders are receiving “final warnings” - bottles with an incendiary mixture on the threshold of apartments. This is a clear signature of stormtrooper detachments created by the regime to purge all political opponents, says Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev.

On Tuesday morning, the leader of the Nikolaev regional organization of the Russian Bloc party, Evgenia Bondarenko, found a bottle similar to a Molotov Cocktail under her door. The bottle had a strong smell of gasoline and had a red and black ribbon inserted into it. The Russian activist called the police and journalists to the scene of the incident.

Bondarenko told Navigator that in Nikolaev “the hunt for Anti-Maidan activists continues.” “On the night from Saturday to Sunday, from April 26 to 27, anti-Maidan activist Dmitry Getmantsev, who was under house arrest, had an explosive package and a bottle with a note thrown into the territory of a private household (at the place where he usually parks his car). The note clarifies “final warning.” And on Sunday, April 27, anti-Maidan activist Tatyana Abramova received a note with threats addressed to her,” Bondarenko told Navigator.

The day before, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev said that in Nikolaev, under the auspices of the authorities, there are stormtrooper detachments formed from activists of right-wing radical organizations like the Right Sector.

“These stormtroopers were created to deal with all dissent in the regions and carry out cleansing operations. Uniforms were made for them, shootings were carried out... In each region, local authorities find sources to finance these groups. The police categorically do not want to deal with their people. These are the ones we need,” Tsarev said on the Moscow TV channel TVC.

However, the politician’s speech was unlikely to be seen in Nikolaev itself - here the broadcast of Russian TV channels is prohibited by order of Kyiv. The new authorities are using an information blockade to combat anti-government protests in the South-Eastern regions.

“Kharkov and Odessa are smoldering and ready to explode at any moment. Dnepropetrovsk is intimidated by Kolomoisky. Zaporozhye is outraged by the beating that took place during the holidays, I think that Zaporozhye will wake up. In Nikolaev the authorities are acting quite harshly - the rally was shot, several people were taken to hospitals. In Kherson, the protest movement was almost completely suppressed,” Tsarev said.

He explains why social activists and deputies of local councils are becoming objects of pressure from stormtroopers - it is among them that new leaders of the South-East are now emerging.

“Brave people are slowly emerging - leaders are emerging among deputies of regional councils and city councils. Remember the story - the hetmans lied all the time. While Russia was negotiating with them, the negotiations kept failing. It was possible to reach an agreement with ordinary people,” says the deputy.

According to him, Russia’s lack of work with Ukrainian youth was a biggest mistake. “For 20 years, we have raised young people who are anti-Russian, anti-Russian, standing with bats. And everyone looked at this calmly,” Tsarev said.

He admitted that part of the responsibility lies with the deputies of the South-East, however, the parliamentarian claims, it was unrealistic to cope with the influence of the West without Russia’s help. “It’s difficult to fight the global system alone,” the deputy said.

In his opinion, contrary to the propaganda of official Kyiv, there is still no Russian interference in the South-East - Tsarev convinced himself of this after visiting the building of the Lugansk SBU department, captured by the rebels.

“They have Ukrainian passports. I know some of them personally. I don’t see Russian money, Russian help, or Russian special services there, although people constantly chant “Russia!” at the rally. – the parliamentarian noted.

According to him, for a compromise, official Kiev “must disband all illegal formations - self-defense, the national guard, the military must be returned to the barracks.”

However, Tsarev states, “the authorities continue arrests, continue repressions.” “I am very worried that if the troops gathered around the small towns of the South-East are used, blood will be shed, it will forever separate the South-East and Ukraine. The authorities are still doing everything to ensure that blood is shed,” the deputy notes.

According to him, so far the situation has been saved from an explosion by the prudence of the Ukrainian residents themselves - both army soldiers and rebels of the South-East.

“Despite the commands that were sounded, the soldiers are not ready to shoot. Ukrainians do not want to kill each other, despite the command of the authorities, propaganda on TV, as if there are not people there, but Russian saboteurs. People sense lies and don't shoot. The police are not involved,” Tsarev clarified.

He also commented on Viktor Yanukovych’s flight abroad: “It looks like the commander of a broken down ship who escapes on a boat, leaving the ship with passengers. There is no point in hiding abroad, all politicians should return to Ukraine,” Tsarev said.

According to him, many representatives of the Party of Regions demonstrated similar cowardice, for example, during the congress in Kharkov, where Yanukovych never showed up. “The delegates fled during the congress. People were afraid... It was not easy for families, deputies, it was a question of preserving not their positions, but their lives. Not all people behaved like heroes,” the former “regional” admitted.

Tsarev believes that another mistake of the Party of Regions was its participation in the vote for the appointment of new leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers. “If they had not voted for Yatsenyuk and Turchynov, but simply left, this would have deprived them of even that partial legitimacy. They would be forced to negotiate,” explains the deputy.

However, he predicts that politicians representing the South-East still have a chance of winning. “The people are divided. Despite the crazy propaganda, the majority is still against NATO, more than half are for the Customs Union. People need to be addressed, not leaders,” says Tsarev.
