Consequences of Russia's strike on a NATO training ground in the Lviv region
180 foreign mercenaries destroyed as a result today's attack on the base at the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region.
“As a result of the strike, up to 180 foreign mercenaries and a large consignment of foreign weapons were destroyed. The destruction of foreign mercenaries who arrived on the territory of Ukraine will continue,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
Military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny cites the testimony of a Western journalist who, with reference to a mercenary from the United States, confirms losses among foreigners.
“An American special forces soldier with a long track record was faced with the reality in Ukraine and became sad. Of the 200 volunteers who once wanted to fight for Independence, only 30 remain. Food is running out. The mood is lousy. The base has been destroyed. Help didn’t come,” Poddubny retells the gist of the message.
According to information coming from the surviving mercenaries, they were hastily evacuated to Poland. Among them was 28-year-old professional marksman Thiago Rossi, who recently boasted that he would destroy the Russians with sniper fire. Now on Instagram, he told his followers with horror how a Russian fighter plane destroyed the entire base of a foreign legion with one missile.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Zelensky issued a decree to change the leadership of the SBU in the Lviv region. Commentators associate this decision precisely with the successful attack by Russia - the Ukrainian special service was unable to ensure the secrecy of the arrival of the mercenaries. Although this should be blamed on Zelensky’s own associates, who the day before they themselves publicized the arrival of foreign fighters.
