"Let's see people's behavior." NSDC threatens to close all of Ukraine
A decision on an all-Ukrainian lockdown may be made if the pandemic situation in the country does not go according to the optimistic scenario.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this in an interview with the BBC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Can an all-Ukrainian lockdown also be considered by the National Security and Defense Council?” – asked the journalist.
“First of all, it will depend on people’s behavior,” Danilov answered. – Today we insist that each community, in accordance with the current legislation, must independently make a decision whether to close this or that community, to introduce certain restrictions. Today we have switched to direct communication with community leaders and advise them to consider the issue depending on how this situation develops in their territory.”
“When we already completely close areas, this is already an exceptional case. Well, if things don’t go, figuratively speaking, according to the optimistic scenario, I do not rule out the possibility that the entire country may be closed. Because the health and life of people should come first,” explained the NSDC Secretary.
