French Ambassador: Kyiv needs to restore human and economic ties with Donbass as quickly as possible
The French Ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont states that there are politicians in Ukraine who would like to transfer the conflict in Donbass to “frozen” status.

She stated this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
“Those who advocate freezing the conflict: are they thinking about the fate of those left on the other side, those living near the front line, or the internally displaced throughout the country,” she said.
Dumont also believes that it is “important for Ukraine to restore human and economic ties with these territories as quickly as possible.” She noted that negotiations between the parties in various formats, among other things, are designed to avoid freezing this conflict.
“The only way to resolve the conflict, which I see both now and in the future, is the Minsk agreements, within the framework of which all parties must fulfill their obligations. The purpose of these agreements, as well as negotiations in the “Normandy format,” is precisely to find a solution to the conflict, avoiding “freezing” the situation,” the French Ambassador convinces.
She also recalled that the experience of Eastern Europe for decades shows that “frozen” conflicts do not always benefit from delaying their resolution.
