Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jan Peklo said this in an interview with Focus.
“More than a million Ukrainians work and study in Poland, most of them legally, and they do not have any problems. This is necessary for you because your citizens can earn money and send it to their families. This is also necessary for the Polish economy,” the diplomat said.
Answering the question whether Poles have any fears that after receiving a visa-free regime, Ukrainians will go en masse to Poland and remain illegal immigrants there, Jan Peklo called this “fears out of nowhere.”
“These are fears out of nowhere. Those who wanted to stay and work in Poland have already left and are working there,” the ambassador noted.
Let us remind you that the European Commission may impose sanctions against Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary due to the reluctance of the governments of these countries to fulfill obligations on the distribution of refugees to the EU.
